RiverTrek is a yearly fundraiser for the Apalachicola Riverkeeper. A group of paddlers kayak down 105 miles of the Apalachicola River, from the Woodruff Dam to Apalachicola Bay. They want to raise awareness of the issues facing the river and bay.

Record low water flow for the Apalachicola River have crashed Florida’s leading oyster producer. RiverTrekkers, oystermen, and the Riverkeeper himself reflect on the state of the river and bay. On Days 3 through 5, the paddlers leave behind tall bluffs and scale the largest testament to Army Corps of Engineers dredging of the river- Sand Mountain.
