Join us for Be My Neighbor Day 2026!

January 26, 2026

Be My Neighbor Day is one of WFSU’s most anticipated events of the year! Join us as we bring together local organizations and families for a day of fun and education. Meet over 20 community partners that serve families and young children, learn about new early education resources, and enjoy games and activities including a meet-and-greet with Daniel Tiger!

Be My Neighbor Day is inspired by Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Mister Rogers. Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was a monumental television series for children’s public media. The show enforces Fred Rogers’ belief that every child deserves respect and emphasizes the importance of being kind to our neighbors and building community. Upholding the same values, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is an animated children’s show about Daniel Tiger and his friends, seeking to connect with young kids on their level.

Through Be My Neighbor Day, kids can see the lessons taught in Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood come to life as they interact with their local leaders and understand the importance of those who live and work around them. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to connect with your neighbors, enjoy creative activities, and make lasting memories with your family.

This event is completely free and open to the public. Registration to meet Daniel Tiger is recommended. Families can reserve a spot HERE.

A big thank you to Florida Prepaid and Florida State University’s Anne Spencer Daves College of Education for being our sponsors this year. We couldn’t have done it without you!
