Meet the Intern: Judy Wang

January 26, 2026

Hi! My name is Judy, and I’m a recent graduate of the University of Southern California, where I double majored in Communication and Biology, and Georgetown University, where I got my Master’s in Communication, Culture, and Technology. I am passionate about science communication, which is the process of communicating scientific and technical information into understandable messages for public audiences. Science communication bridges the gap between scientists and society through journalism and outreach, something I hope to do in my future career.

I grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, listening to WFSU with my parents, and I also participated in SciGirls, a summer program put on by WFSU and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory for middle school girls interested in STEM fields. Through SciGirls, I got to meet female scientists in various fields and take field trips to places like an animal shelter, a forensics lab, a wolf sanctuary, and Wakulla Springs. That experience marked my first experience at WFSU and sparked my interest in science outreach through media and communication.

This fall, I hope to attend law school to continue exploring the intersection of science, media, and law, areas that have shaped my personal and academic interests. I’m especially interested in media and communications law, as well as intellectual property and copyright law, and I’m curious about how these fields impact the media and broadcasting industries that play an important role in public education.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy trying new coffee shops around town, taking my corgi on long walks, and debating college football and the NBA with friends. I also love traveling and learning about new places and cultures.

I had the chance to briefly intern with the WFSU Radio team back in middle school, so returning to WFSU now feels like a full-circle moment. I’m truly excited about the opportunity to work with the WFSU Education team and support the community through their events and outreach programs.
