Hi! My name is Kailyn Glanton, and I’m thrilled to be joining the WFSU Education Department this fall as a Digital Media Intern. I’m from Midlothian, Texas, and I’m currently a senior studying marketing at Florida State University. My goal is to use my degree in the entertainment industry, focusing on marketing or PR for motion picture films. I’m especially excited for this internship because it gives me the opportunity to grow my skills in editing, filming, marketing, and professional development.
On campus, I’m actively involved in several organizations, including Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, the American Marketing Association, FSL Line Dance, Doulos, and the Florida State Film School. I also volunteer regularly at my church, DCC. These experiences have deepened my passion for community service and creative storytelling.
Outside of school and extracurriculars, I love working out, dancing, reading, watching movies, and going on little “side quests.” I’m a huge Marvel fan and enjoy binge-watching those films, along with favorites like The Maze Runner, The Hunger Games, The Greatest Showman, and Black Widow. As you can tell, I have a soft spot for dystopian movies. Lately, I bought my first camera, and it has become my most recent hobby.
Having grown up on PBS KIDS, I’m especially excited to give back and support an institution that shaped my childhood. For much of my childhood, PBS was one of the only channels we had, so I’ve always felt a special connection to the programs that left a lasting impact on me. The show I connected with the most was WordGirl, but I also loved Caillou, Dragon Tales, and Clifford. Because of this, I’m looking forward to being a small part of spreading the joy these shows bring to kids and witnessing how much they learn and grow from them.
