Hey there, I’m Ryann Lynn, and I’m absolutely thrilled to join the team at WFSU Public Media as the new Education & Outreach Coordinator. It’s an honor to be a part of such a dynamic organization that’s making a real difference in our community.
My journey to this role has been quite a ride. Originally from the Midwest, I studied communications and art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My first internship was at the Lincoln Children’s Museum, where I was continuously inspired by the staff’s commitment to educating through the power of play.
Now, about a decade later, I am looking for ways to contribute to the growth of my community here in Florida. I have endless respect for public media and its role in furthering public learning and community collaboration.
After graduation, I embarked on a life-changing experience teaching English in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was there that I developed a deep appreciation for the power of education and how it shapes communication.
Once I returned to the States, I delved into advocacy work where I focused on causes related to public health, environmental sustainability, and consumer protection. This led me to serve as an aide in the Florida State House of Representatives, where I gained invaluable insights into the workings of government and the importance of community engagement.
Joining WFSU feels like coming home to a place where my diverse experiences and skills can come together to make a meaningful impact. I’m excited to dive into our educational initiatives, collaborate with our amazing team, and engage with our community in creative and impactful ways.
Stay tuned for more updates and exciting projects as we work together to inspire, inform, and educate through the power of media!
