With a 360-degree approach towards learning and reaching children, PBS KIDS leverages the full spectrum of media and technology to build knowledge, critical thinking, imagination and curiosity.

PBS KIDS content helps preschool and school aged children in each of the four key areas of childhood development – cognitive, social, emotional and physical.

Example Programming

Molly of Denali – This series follows the adventures of Molly, a feisty and resourceful Alaska Native girl, as she helps her parents run the Denali Trading Post in their Alaskan village. Viewers are introduced to the rich history and modern-day experience of family life in the heart of the Alaskan tundra through the eyes of Molly, her parents, and her friends. This show is designed to help kids develop skills around informational text such as using a map and following an instruction manual. Visit the website to learn more: https://pbskids.org/molly

ODD SQUAD – a PBS KIDS live-action media property designed to help kids ages 5-8 learn math. The show focuses on two young agents, Olive and Otto, who are part of the Odd Squad, an agency whose mission is to come to the rescue whenever something unusual happens. A math concept is embedded in each of their cases, as Olive and Otto work together to problem-solve and save the day in each episode. Visit the website to learn more: https://pbskids.org/oddsquad/

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood – Fred Rogers’ original Neighborhood of Make Believe is recreated in vibrant color and texture; his signature puppet Daniel Striped Tiger is transformed into a curious and playful 4-year-old joined by his friends O the Owl, Prince Wednesday, Katerina Kittycat and Miss Elaina. The series curriculum is school-readiness and social-emotional learning, and each preschool themed episode offers a musical strategy for children and parents to use together.
