What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's voices that inspire. I am Larry Robinson, the president of Floating in M University. The impact that this institution has had is really remarkable. When I meet with a alumni and feel the passion that they have about their alma mater, the difference it made in their lives, it really makes you think, well, wow, this is about 130 year legacy. I better not screw this up. The best in the brightest students come to Floating in M University. They're capable of getting and doing anything that anybody else has done. Now, the average income might be different than some other institution, right? We might have a larger percentage of first generation students, you know, and I missed. But that's nothing about them that suggests that they can't do great things. And so I think one of the misperceptions is that there might be some barriers. Well, those barriers to that success aren't there in eight abilities. It's the misperceptions that people have about these students. We need every able-bodied person out there performing and contributing to this nation's bottom line. We can't afford to leave anybody on the sideline. If there's talent out there on the any rock and families are pretty big rock, we need to uncover that talent, nurture it, grow it, and get it out into the world of making contributions to our society. I mean, that ought to be a mandate for all of us. That's not let these misperceptions get in the way of the reality of the talented students we have at Floating in M University.
