What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is Makariski. I'm a TCC graduate and I am going to attend Florida State University in the fall. Being at TCC moded me into a different person than I was when I first stepped into TCC. I feel like I'm more of an open person because I was really, really shy when I first lived high school. My first semester at TCC, I didn't really like interact with student life, but then I got into SGA so then I started to interact more with student life, take on leadership positions. So I feel like it just moded me to be a better person. Two people from the TCC community that really have inspired me. First is Deja Green. She's the manager of student life. So she worked alongside SGA. And she always listened to our ideas. She never shut anybody down. She always listened to us. And I just really appreciate her for letting us have that creative freedom. And then also Miss Crumbs, Brieo Crumbs. She is so lovely. If you ask any student that's involved in any leadership position or organization at TCC, they'll most likely bring her up. She encourages the students a lot to take on these positions because I wasn't going to go for the secretary position or any position at SGA. But she talked to me. She gave me a little pep talk and told me, you should just try it out. You'll do good. So I feel like she's just really encouraging and she believes in the students. I would like to give advice to any students that's at TCC or just any college student in general. I would say to reach out to your advisors, reach out to the faculty and staff on campus. Because lots of students, you were sometimes afraid to speak up about issues we're having, but the faculty, the professors, the staff there, their main goal and focus is the students. My name is MacKaren Skate. I'm a TCC graduate and I will be attending Florida State University in the fall of 2023. You're listening to voices that inspire.
