Voices that Inspire

What inspires you? From WFSU Public Media, here is this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is Gabriel Rios and I go to Griffin Middle School. My name is Veronica Rios. I work at Griffin Middle School as a parent liaison and I'm a student at TCC. Makes me feel proud because I know that she has a lot on her hands, raising four kids and she still goes back to school to give us a better life. By going back to school, I really want to inspire them by making them understand that it's never too late. Go for their education. Go for what they want. I know they're capable of doing their smart kids. I want to go to engineering school at FSU. Hopefully be as much as a role model for my kids as my mom was. I'm very proud that at his age, he can be so determined. He's always talking about going to college and to get to that point where he wants to become an engineer. I know he will. Mrs. Thomas, the principal at Griffin School, she has been my mentor but encouraging me to continue my education. She kept telling me all the time, you can do it. You're so smart, you can do it. It was hard. It was hard because I know that I'm a smart woman. She said something that stayed with me. She said, it's okay to do things afraid. It's okay to do things scared. Just go for it. And now I know I can do it. I told her that I will be grateful. The rest of my life. Oh, I'm proud of you. Thank you. My name is Gabriel Rias and I got a Griffin Middle School.
