What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's voices that inspire. My name is Steve Evans, just a proud resident, along with my family and T'Alazy. It's getting up in the morning and just feeling that sense of excitement and enthusiasm. About somebody new you're going to have a cup of coffee with today or lunch or breakfast or a meeting with. And wondering what's going to come out of this? What's the issue? And then at the end of the day being able to go home. And it feels though you may have helped somebody cross her hurdle or at least you've identified something that you're going to work together on. And you have an opportunity to talk about what's important to them. We're going through some tremendous challenges in this community as many communities are. But at the same time while you step up to begin addressing those challenges, you've got to package and appreciate the tremendous advantages that this community has and assets that it has. When you recognize how much innovative talent was in this community, how many people were here that didn't know what to do in terms of how they could capture that talent and move on to the next stage in their lives or their careers. Technology is playing a pivotal role across every industry in this community and the world for that matter. How do we recognize that talent from our schools, whether it be our K through 12 schools or colleges or universities? Grab it and develop it. And at the same time create jobs and companies and organizations. And the pipeline that can go into them help them grow. What we need to focus on are having the right skills for the jobs. And there's a concerted effort going on in that part with all these players that we don't allow all these organizations to come into play to fall back into silos. The magic is optimization, not sub optimization. My name is Steve Evans and along with my wife Linda and our children and our grandchildren, we are proud and honored to be Tallahassee residents. Voices that inspire is sponsored by Leadership Tallahassee, a program of the Tallahassee Chamber celebrating 35 years of cultivating community leadership.
Steve Evans - The Magic is Optimization
Steve is considered a mentor to many in the Tallahassee community. He likes going home at the end of the day and feel although he has helped someone cross a hurdle or address a challenge. His passion is to see Tallahassee grow and innovate; he believes the community needs to work across various sectors to do that.
