What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. Byron Green, I am a civic activist and educator here in Tallahassee, Florida. I really would like to see Tallahassee be the place or live into the place that it can in terms of being a place where all citizens, all who call Tallahassee home, you know, is a good place and that it has good things for all of those people and hopefully will provide good memories. I have good memories of growing up here in Tallahassee. And yes, there are some things that are not as glowing but for the most part, I believe in Tallahassee. I have seen it grow really from a town to more of a city. With the Community Remembrance Project, it is all about recognizing, at least the recorded, victims of mention, but it's also the honor, the many who we don't know and to also honor the families because it wasn't just the person that was impacted but it was a family that was impacted. It was a community that was impacted. It can help us see, you know, the progress that has been made from 1897 to 2020. It helps to fill in the blanks, if you will, along the line of history of our city. So I think that's why it's important. I just feel like it's a good piece to have in our historical narrative. What inspires me is a feeling of hope, no matter where we are in our community. Byron Green, I am a civic activist and educator here in Tallahassee, Florida. You're listening to voices that inspire.
