What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name's David Clark. I'm the CEO of a Legion Group, and I function as a strategic advisor to an array of companies to help them grow their business. I have been a fixer and an operator of solving problems, working at the lowest levels of state government, and then working my way up to essentially the top of state government. And I've always had a business sense about how do I help things grow, and how do I solve for problems. I knew I loved helping people. I've always been raised to be a helper and a fixer. The helper comes from my mom, the fixer comes from my dad. I've been blessed to have mentors in my life, who have lifted me up, challenged me, called me out when I needed to be called out, and have always encouraged me along the way, because I was taught very young that your greatest weapon in life is curiosity. Stay curious and always seek to understand. And so that requires you to ask a lot of questions to check your ego and to surround yourself with people who know more than you do, and put yourself in those rooms. And I once heard a mentor tell me, and they said, when you're born, you look like your parents. When you die, you look like your choices. And that really hit me deeply. I want that listener to hear that they're enough, and that they're capable. And everything that they need is already within them. And all they have to do is ask for help and reach out to the people around them. And we live in a day and age where there's a lot coming at us. And I just want people to know, especially the ones who are feeling overwhelmed, that you're enough. My name's David Clark. I'm the CEO of Allegiant Group. We solve problems and create strategies for companies both in a private sector and the public sector. And you're listening to voices that inspire.
