What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is Dita Stancell. I'm a rising 10th grader at Rickards. I'm with the Tallahassee Future Leaders Association this summer. There was a big list of applications when I signed on and I guess I just saw WFSU. I'm like, oh, I listen to NPR all the time. It would be really cool to see what goes into that. I guess I just want to hear some of the good things happening in the world with newscasting and broadcasting. There could be a lot of focus on the bad things that are happening and maybe the good things get overlooked because I guess human nature we tend to focus on what's bad that's happening. But there's a lot of good things that's happening too. I've learned a lot of stuff about all the stuff PBS does to help kids with learning and reading. And I've learned what it takes to run something like this. I know for sure that when I get a job, it'll have to be something that I really love and I'm really passionate about because then even no matter how the job is going, I know that this is where I want to be. So I'll be able to push through. Some advice that I want to share with my colleagues and peers is to just be in tune with yourself. To know what you want to do and what future you want to have. You don't have to have it all planned out, but you want to start thinking about it. And you definitely want to start making it manifest. I guess I would just say to my family that I'm really grateful that they were able to get this opportunity for me and just loving and believing in me every step of the way. My name is Dedon Stansel and this summer, I'm with the Tallahassee Future Leaders Association in WFSU. You're listening to voices that inspire.
