What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. Hi, my name is John Rivera, and I will be a sophomore at Childs High School. If a person were to know me as a person, the first thing they should know about me is that I game a lot, I don't read a lot, which I should do more, and that I help people in the very best way possible. The first thing parents should set are values for children, because if you don't set boundaries towards what you want to do and what you need to do, then you're not able to balance one or the other. Out of all the people that I know in my entire life, my mother was the most inspirational to me. I remembered in the Philippines that she had to work very hard in her school, in order to go to the United States. And the sad part about it is that she went to the United States first, and that she had to leave us behind, because she didn't have enough money for the whole family to go to the United States. And I wouldn't be here without her. When we kept moving and moving, I was not inclined to see it at first, but over time, it just shows how committed she was at getting her job, her offer, her life, which has caused me to develop that same passion towards my goal, that I should be hardworking, that I should be motivational to doing what I need to do in order to live a good life. My name is John Rivera, and I am a sophomore at Charles High School. You're listening to Voices That Inspire.
