What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is Laura Rogers, and I'm the program director for world class schools of Leon County at the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. As the program director, I'm involved with Leon County Schools and the business community. And it just gives me so much joy to be able to actually be in the schools as well, working with teachers, administrators, and especially the students. The best and brightest awards has been something that has been so special to be involved in. We're celebrating our 20th anniversary. We're gonna reach our million dollar mark of money going to the students. We have over 2,000 students that have received scholarship awards. Not only just for their academic excellence, but the difference is that servant heart. When you can recognize students with that full heart, that's where it brings joy. I kind of raised my children with this phrase that I remember from living in Brazil, Nukisabi, which means you never know, and truly it can be used where you never know, you never know who you're gonna meet, you never know where you're gonna be, but make the best of it, and it's usually a great thing. If I had to say the one word that makes me continue to go on with all the things that I'm involved in is gratitude, and having the friends and the family that support me so that I can continue on and support others. I'm Laura Rogers, and you never know what you might do who you might meet and be that change for helping somebody else continue on, because they're their future, the best and the brightest. You're listening to voices that inspire.
