What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is Amanda Morrison, and I am the owner of Pocovino Wine Bar in Market in downtown Tallahassee. I always admired fine service and wine, and that kind of lives high on the mountain, and I'm not a high on the mountain girl. I come from a very single mom first to college background, so I never thought I would even own a home. You don't think those things are in your realm of possibility when you grow up poor. So let alone a career in wine. It's just wild. The path one thing leads to the next leads to the next leads to the next wine is not been diverse. It has not been accessible. It has kind of been this obscure luxury item for most people, or it's just this cheap thing we buy at the grocery store. There's been no in-between, and so what I'm excited about is hopefully that we're building that in-between space where there's something for everyone. And what sparks my joy is educating about wine. I love to take wine from this 30,000 foot level and help people have these aha moments like I had with wine. We always say there is a difference between hospitality and service. I can serve you a plate of food, but hospitality is how you feel about the whole experience, and that's something that's so important to me, and so important to our team at Pocovino. My favorite thing when we do classes or tastings or wine dinners is people who came as strangers and sat across the table together are having a great conversation by the end of the night. I just love that we get to bring hospitality to Tallahassee in more ways than one, not just what we do inside of our doors, but hopefully what I help others create to build a better community here. My name's Amanda Morson. I own Pocovino, wine bar and market downtown, and we can't wait to share a glass with you soon. You're listening to voices that inspire.
