What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. I'm Ann Wing. I'm the network coordinator with BigBin Community Basecare, but I'm also on the executive board of directors for Rebuild Bay County. Tonight's an anniversary event to recognize Hurricane Michael where we've come as a community. So it's an opportunity for us to celebrate the recovery we have had. And for the folks in the community to come out, enjoy the evening. We've got great lineup of artists and coming out to perform. We have activities for children and for families. I'm Katie Zimfer. I am the program manager for Project Hope. I'm employed by BigBin Community Basecare. We contract with local agencies to provide crisis counseling. We are not diagnosticians. We are simply crisis counselors. We go out anywhere they need us. We work in the school systems to do groups for teachers, for children. We also go door to door because our role is to help people figure out a recovery plan. Amargo Anderson, the mayor of the City of Lohan-Heven. This is Buddy. He is a care and terrier, which is the same as Toto, and the Wizard of Oz. And he literally blew into my life. He was abandoned on the day of the storm. And I use him a lot when I go to speak because I talk about his resilience, the fact that he's a survivor. He's an optimist. He loves everyone. And he just kind of takes each day as it comes. My name is Peter Beverly. I'm here to support 850, Panama City. Me and my kids are real big supporters. We support and try to help people motivate and keep them going even though the disaster we have had. Have led a lot of people down into the press. My goal is to bring my kids here to let them know that we are rebuilding. We are getting stronger. We are getting better. It just take time. You're listening to voices that inspire.
