What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. I'm Barbara Boone. I'm Vice President at the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, where I direct the Leadership Tallahassee Program. I am passionate about community leadership, which is the type of leadership that leadership Tallahassee develops in our participants. And I think what I bring is that quality of empowerment. I don't want to be the person in the front of the room or the one asking the questions. I want to encourage others to dig deep into their own interests or questions or concerns and to ask the questions. And so I'm that person that suggests that you go up, you talk, you share your ideas. And in sharing those ideas with each other, we become more appreciative of the differences and the similarities we all have. And then in turn can use those qualities to make Tallahassee better. It's just awesome to see as they graduate all the awesome things they do. And that's what it's about. We're not suggesting that they follow any particular path. We want them to find their passion, find what they think they can affect change within the community and set their sights on that. I have the best job in the world. I get to work with the cream of the crop in the community every year. Each year we bring together a group of interesting talented, competent achievers to learn more about the community of Tallahassee and what their role as leaders will be in it. The passion for the community inspires me, the passion for leading in the community and making sure that leaders step up and serve. I'm Barbara Boone. I'm Vice President at the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, where I direct the Leadership Tallahassee Program. You're listening to voices that inspire.
