What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. I'm Beth Chora and first and foremost, I'm a wife and a mother. And secondly, I am the Chief Operating Officer at Capital City Bank and I like to be involved in lots of things in the great community that we live in. When I was growing up, my parents really instilled the notion that it was an obligation to return back to people and to the communities that you live in. And I think that that has just carried me through my life. I learned at a young age how to cope with disappointment, how to cope with being different. And I think humor was a way that I did that. But in spite of all of that, and even as an adult, two vows of cancer within 20 months with a young child. And I just always felt like you can go one of two ways. You can wallow in it or you can accept it and move on. And I have always been and accepted and move on. That's what inspires me to try to lift other people up to. I had a friend who had a great saying that he found his father's death after his father passed away. He'd never noticed it before, but it really comes as sums up probably who I am. And that is regret does not change the past. An anxiety will not change the future. I wanna be happy and I want to help people around me be happy and be ease and be comfortable. So maybe that's my trademark. Maybe that's my one superpower. My name is Beth Boren and I am precariously balanced. You're listening to voices that inspire.
Beth Corum - Regret Does Not Change the Past, And Anxiety Does Not Change the Future
