What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. I am Kalandra Stringer. I am currently the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Tallahassee State College. I've been at TSC for 21 years. I started as math faculty, and when I started at the college, it was Tallahassee Community College, and as most people know, we have rebranded to TSC Tallahassee State College. Being a faculty member, I was only seeing and surrounded by a small group of students. Being in this role that I'm in now, it allows me to be able to help a large amount of students. You know, you can have that effect across the entire campus. You're able to really go out and share that even with other institutions to even impact other places. And so that is, I like to say, the cool part of my job is being able to speak with students, and you know, they talk to you, they tell you what's going on, and you can immediately start thinking, okay, what's the innovative solution that not only helps that student, but that can help every single student at the college. Growing up has always been instilled in me. How do you help others? And that's just one of those things that it empowers me. It's exciting, it's rewarding, because people always need help, and I always go back and think about someone helped me. One of the things I try to pass on to students is here I am helping you. So now I have this expectation that you will now go help someone else, and it's just that community where we keep helping each other. And that's just one of my pillars, one of my foundations is to be that servant leader, just wanting to help others in any way that I possibly can. I am Kalandra Stringer, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Tauhacie State College, and I am here to help others. You're listening to Voices That Inspire.
