What inspired you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. I'm Chloe Thompson. I'm currently in ninth grader at Sail High School. I grew up around the Muscogee Nation of Florida, but I wasn't immersed in it. But I kind of am trying to be more immersed in it now and learn more about the culture and stuff. So I'm kind of like partaking in it now. But when I was little, I kind of knew about it and I heard about it all the time, but I'd never have delved deep into it. I was awarded an internship with WFSU that was a part of the National Project with a PBS program called The Age of Nature. The project I'm currently doing is about what Lake Alberta is and the problem with trash and some solutions to fix it. Spreading awareness about trash and our impact on the world just as a whole. I made a community cleanup and did it for Lake Alberta to show what just one event, just for a whole park and just a little thing for two hours can help majorly. It felt really fulfilling, putting in a bunch of work and organizing it and then seeing it actually turn out well. The internship definitely helped me gain better organization skills and also helped me gain a better appreciation of nature and just allowed me to be more immersive in it. Just inspired me to like try to organize events where it's similar to this and it's not just like at Lake Alberta and it also inspired me to be better about my habits. Make sure that I'm trying to be better. Don't just say be better, also do it. This was an awesome opportunity. My name is Chloe Thompson and I am a ninth grader at Sail High School. You're listening to voices that inspire.
