What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. Christina Perretis and I am the Director for the Tallahassee Leon County Office of Economic Vitality. I'm from Fort Myers originally. I came up here to go to Florida State and did both my bachelors and masters degree here. Around 2012 that's when my husband and I made the definitive decision that we wanted to stay here and raise our family and couldn't be happier with that decision. You know he was looking for new opportunities and I told him I said I think Tallahassee is where we should be and it was the best decision we ever made. The Office of Economic Vitality works to promote and elevate Tallahassee and Leon County's diverse and vibrant economy and we do that by focusing on several key cornerstones that's working within business formation, business expansion, and location, talent development, minority women and small businesses, and working closely with our institutions of higher education for tech transfer needs. The opportunity really is what gets me going every day. When you look out at the next five years and the infrastructure projects are there, the construction that's going on right now, you really can tell that Tallahassee is moving forward and is developing in a way that we haven't over the last couple of years and we're seeing that in our job growth and we're seeing that in our people too. My family likes to explore the green ways and we like to go camping and we're really doing something unique and special every time we can within within an hour and a half commute of our area. My name is Christina Perretis and I am the director of the Tallahassee Leon County Office of Economic Vitality. You're listening to voices that inspire.
