What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. Dan McGrew, General Manager, Career Source Capital Region. Our goal is simply to connect folks in our community to employment opportunities and connect employers in our community to qualified skilled candidates. I've always had the luxury in my career to work for organizations who placed a high priority on helping people find their next step or helping them reach their goals. And it's really fulfilled a lot of passions for me. So I get to manage a large operation. I get to help folks, help others. And at the end of the day, I get a success story just about every day. I love creating environments where people can be truly successful. So whether it's working with a group of youth that, you know, don't know where they're going and help them kind of understand themselves a little better or find their way or working with my staff to help them realize their own potential and what they're able to do or working with employers or agencies in our community to find collaborative partnerships where we can do more together. Those are the types of things that truly energize me. I love creating opportunities where there weren't opportunities before, where we can bring people together to learn more about each other's organizations or learn more about each other's as individuals and how together we can achieve more. You have to know what you love. You have to know what drives you, what motivates you, what energizes you. And once you figure that out, then this is just about putting yourself in a position to do that every day. We all have parts of our jobs that are less energizing than others. But if you can know yourself well enough to put yourself in a position to utilize those things that you're good at, that you're great at, that you truly enjoy on an ongoing basis, that's when I think we're amazing.
