What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is David Conley. I'm a senior at Lincoln High School. And I love art. Before I could read my mom has baby pictures of me with like pencil and paper like drawing. Drawing has just been a part of my life as far back as I could remember. Now, it really draws me to it is, I wanna make a career out of it. I feel like it's a skill. I can always have them, I don't know how old I get. And it can be taken away from me, you know. But I can't take away creativity. I like to work in pencil and pen. I've tried a lot of things currently at that two hours now. I work at it to that two shot. That's what I'm trying to see now. I like to draw things that I've meaning. I've always been educated about, you know, African-American history and history. But for what's going on now even happens. So I don't have to rely totally based on like news information and how I translate it is I compare it from like now, like events that's happening now to events that's happening in the past. Because it's almost like a rewind. A lot of times back then, you know, it was kind of hidden. And now that we have cameras to actually catch it, it's happening. That more eyes that look at it and me drawing it, I just want those eyes to be able to look at my portfolio or the pictures I don't draw. Definitely take time for yourself, whatever it is. You know, he made time for classwork or to study or place for it's not for yourself because it's an investment also for investing yourself. If you love drawing that too, just draw it for right. I am David Conley and I love art. You're listening to voices that inspire.
