What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is Deborah Moore and I am the Circuit Director with the local Guardian at Lightham Program. And we cover the surrounding six counties and our offices here in Tallahassee. Our staff, our attorneys and our child advocate managers partner with volunteers in the community to represent the best interest of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Those times where I sit back after dealing with a very challenging situation and recognize that if it wasn't for Guardian at Lightham, we wouldn't have known that this child needed something or that something needed to be changed for that child to make it better. But the advocates and their zealous, just unending energy and heart, their servant hearts and our staff, their commitment to keep going and to be able to get through those days where you know, don't feel like that we can have another day like this. That's what inspires me. And those are joyful times that we can celebrate. It inspires me with our attorneys come walking in the door and you can just see they wouldn't brag about themselves, but just to know that all of their many hours of not sleeping at night and just the weekends that they've spent and the long hours preparing to fight for maybe one issue for a child and been successful. That joy and that spirit that they have and our advocates when they come in the door and they just are in tears because they've been at an adoption for a child and been through that year or two hoping and wishing and trying to get through so many challenges to make sure they have that forever family. That's what inspires me. I'm Deborah Moore and I'm the Circuit Director for Guardian at Light-Up. You're listening to Voices That Inspire.
Deborah Moore - Servant Hearts

Local Guardian Ad Litem Circuit Director, Deborah Moore, works to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children. She is inspired by the advocates, staff, and other volunteers she works with. She feels hopeful for the children she advocates for when she witnesses the dedication of the many servant hearts by her side.
