What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. I'm Arquise Williams, co-owner of Girl Is Lemonade. And I'm DeVitrius Murray, also co-owner of Girl Is Lemonade in Sleeks. My grandmother, she passed away in 92. I was actually born in 91. Mom tells us that she used to do these things at all the gatherings when she made this famous lemonade drink. Right, and she had other things as well. So when we grow to be age, understanding, we should try these things ourselves. And somebody's just getting wrong. Somebody didn't. To make it quite like her. That first trailer was a blessing, man. Just always had to give credit to the community. We were just, like I said, on the side of the road and these girls came up and we're just like, hey, we want to help out. We want to make a goal fund for you with your permission. And we'll see where it goes. That's how we got the first trailer. We've been stabilized since then, man. Just what a love, man, that you got to have. For somebody random. And to think that love exists here in Tyler Hassey, man. Shout out to Tyler Hassey, man. Shout out to Tyler, man, for just recognizing what these young black men are trying to do. What my grandmother would say, she would say, do it again. She's actually an individual who wants you to achieve higher than everyone else. You know, your success is not dependent on anyone else's success. She would be proud, but I think she'd say, go harder. Yeah, go further, reach higher. Do better. Ooh. I'm Marquis Williams, co-owner of Girl Is Lemonade in Switzerland. We here to love on you and each one teach one. And I'm Demetrius Murray, co-owner of Girl Is Lemonade in Switzerland, just spreading more love. You're listening to voices that inspire.
Demetrius Murray & Marquis Williams - Go Harder. Go Further. Reach Higher. Do Better.

Demetrius Murray and Marquis Williams are co-owners of Gurlie’s Lemonade and Sweets. Stories of their grandmother’s world-famous lemonade fanned the flames of the two brother’s entrepreneurial spark. Passersby inspired by the two go-getters' work ethic offered to set up a GoFundMe to help their business flourish, and flourish it did. Murray and Williams are inspired by the love the community has shown them and attempt to reciprocate that love through the product they produce and the way that they engage their customers.
