What inspires you from WFSU public media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. Dr. Benny Elbold and Julia, I'm the proud principal of our Frank Nimms middle school. We have approximately about 515 kids here. They had dropped down to some dangerous numbers in recent years and it was a part of my mantra to look at the perception of the building. What do people say? What do people hear? And so we have been on this huge tip of care, hope and love. I put up a billboard and I know that was, you know, it's just out there. But I wanted people to have three words anonymous with our school, care, hope and love. I didn't put my name up there or anything else. It just was on Frank Nimms, a Hannah and Address and it says care, hope and love. Why? Because I want them to understand that those three words of what we govern our self by. Every student will get care. The ability to hope and then we will do it with love. I do believe that I am the child. I am that boy and that girl who walks to hall of our Frank Nimms middle school. Because I had a teacher and administrator, somebody to do was done for me and got me to this point that I can now serve in this capacity. I often tell my kids, if you know me and my youth, you would be just as shocked that I'm your principal today. But somebody showed me care, hope and love. And as long as I got breath in my body, that becomes my assignment. Because somebody did it for me. I see my life through their eyes. I came from a single parent home at risk for various reasons that whole sort of spill. And I see me through them. And if I don't care, who will? And if not now, when? I'm Dr. Benny L. Bolden, Jr. I'm the proud principal of our Frank Nimms middle school. You're listening to voices that inspire.
