What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's voices that inspire. My name is John Alexander Bailey. I'm a senior at Lincoln High School and I plan on attending Florida and the University and I graduate in 2018. I have grown up around family and families just seems like a traditional place to go. It's a very great HBCU. I will have plenty of opportunities. Every home coming home up there, my brothers, they go there and my mom and my dad worked there. It's a very good environment for me. I have a lot of leaders in my life. My mom and dad of course, they always have them a bag. They're always inspiring me. Mary Gillum. He went to Rickards with my brothers. That's hard on how I got to know him and he's always been kind of there for me. And then I also was in a program with him, the young leaders program. The things that inspire me the most about him is he's always in a positive mood and he always has a can-do attitude. He cares so very well and I just do my best at carrying myself well. I have to have a can-do attitude. Be involved in the community obviously. I have to get out and show people like what I'm doing and then give back to the community. Lead by example. I would like to thank the links for giving me this opportunity to be a part of the links battalion and helping me become a more responsible young man and getting me prepared for manhood and I would just like to thank them for having me a part of this program. I see myself in ten years working to get my master's degree, having a job, saving financially and working to work being successful. I'm John Bailey. I'm a senior at Lincoln High School and I'll be graduating in 2018. Voices that inspire is produced by WFSU Public Media and partnership with our local community. John Bailey - Have a Can-Do Attitude and Lead By Example
Lincoln senior John Bailey is inspired by his parents as well as family friend, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum. He believes part of success includes having a can-do attitude, giving back to his community, and leading by example.
