What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is Kenneth Pratt and I am the Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Florida Bankers Association, former chair of Leadership Telehassy and just a native of Telehassy. Having been a native of Telehassy, I have had an opportunity over my lifetime to really have seen where there were really no voices representing our South side of town when I grew up in Telehassy. But now that we do have those voices, now there are folks who are advocating for different areas of town. The North side has always been well represented, but now you have more voices at the table, if you will, talking about what the issues are. And I also think that you have more of an understanding that we need to work together as a community rather than to work as one side of town. When we work together as a community, it betters everything. It's not just, let me take care of my community, let me take care of my household, but I think we've gotten to a point where folks see that there is a larger benefit in helping all communities kind of get that hand up so that they can better themselves. And that's what they want to do. My first role model is I think came from this community and another thing that I very adamant about is saying that my parents surrounded me with a great support group. They surrounded me with a group of folks that supported me, that were a support system for me later on, even after I went away to college and came back here, it started my professional career. And they surrounded me with that group of folks who had my best intentions. And for that, I'm grateful. Kenneth Pratt and I am the Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Florida Bankers Association. You're listening to voices that inspire.
Kenneth Pratt - More Voices at the Table

Tallahassee native and Senior VP of Government Affairs for the Florida Bankers Association, Kenneth Pratt, has seen a shift of no voices representing his home neighborhoods on the south side of Tallahassee, to now where there are more voices talking about the issues affecting all different regions of the community. He sees people working together, which he believes benefits the Tallahassee community as a whole. Kenneth shares the importance of the support system that his parents surrounded him with - people who had his best intentions in mind.
