Voices that Inspire

What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is McCarris Lindsay. I'm a senior at Rickert's High School. I am wearing my green coat ensemble, which is like the staple for the TLC links battalion, and is of some black dress pants, some black dress shoes, and my green coat. Whenever you hear TLC chapter of the links and you see us in person, you will most likely be wearing this. The program recognizes the young African-American men who are succeeding in academic leadership. It can be um, success in athletics. And given that success is not really a common thing because stuttichits show that African-American men have like the highest chance of dropping out of school for graduation. Given the opportunity to participate in something like this is very good because it it's supposed us to other people who are successful and it shows us like what life is like for them and that kind of inspires us to want to be like that and shows that we're on the right track and heading the right direction for that. I've been accepted to family for civil engineering so with that I plan on getting a degree in engineering and working with major like theme parts within either like Florida or some works in the United States and eventually making my own roller coasters and opening up a theme park. I know sounds crazy right now but I feel like when they are I get there. My dad has really inspired me because being that he came from nothing and turned down to something that was really inspiring for me and it kind of set the bar for me to be better than that so um he definitely inspired me and I honestly hope to inspire kids who have lost hope or who seem as if they aren't anything or they have no chance of being everybody has a chance everybody is somebody so I hope inspire any and everyone I can.
