What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. Pam Davis Executive Director of Kids Incorporated. 28 years ago, plus, I took the job as Executive Director of Kids Incorporated. And it was a job that I thought I knew what I was getting into and I had no clue what I was getting into. But it was a job I was destined to have. I would like to say, without it sounded too confident, I think the impact of quality. It's always going to be the teacher-child relationship. And so when you're working with children and infants and toddlers, which is what we do, so specifically, everything's about their social-emotional growth. So they have to have a relationship and bond in a security feeling with those caregivers. And then the next prong of that would be the relationship of the teacher with the parent because no matter what anyone says, the parent is always the child's first teacher. Kids Fest is always going to be one of the top ones. That was a dream of mine 17 years ago. But it was a dream long before that. I've just been real encouraged with personal growth and professional growth of our staff. And then the philosophy it has incorporated is we're never going to be satisfied with being compliant. I have a feeling next week I'm going to hear a lot more than I really want to hear about those legacies. But I am so proud, if not even if I could talk about it without getting emotional, that the next executive director of Kids Incorporated has been one that I have mentored for 15 years. I am a champion for children and I also a champion for families. Pam Davis, Kids Incorporated. You're listening to voices that inspire. For more information, visit wfsu.org.
