What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name is Tia Isomoris. Right now I'm an AmeriCorps VISTA leader with AmeriCorps floor to VISTA Network. We're right there on FSU campus in the Center for Leadership and Social Change. As a VISTA leader, I am now supervising or pretty much in support to those that are experiencing their first year of service. VISTA is an AmeriCorps program and VISTA stands for Volunteers and Service to America. The mission is to alleviate poverty. And so VISTAs are assigned to nonprofits or organizations that have these initiatives, whether it's education or food desert or those community issues or social issues. So we support them in a indirect service way. I've always been involved in service in some way and I look back on it. So I love people when I see a need I want to fill it if I can or help. And so doing those sorts of things, being in a national guard, then being involved and creating some nonprofits, just seeing what could be done. I love a good story of overcoming higher power, keeps me inspired. I'm very curious. That and then just using my little bit of light and love and my little portion of this big world to just share it a little bit. So that keeps me inspired just believing that things could always be better. I really feel like there's great resources and power in small places and if we put them together, we can make a big impact. I am Tia Isa Morris and I am the AmeriCorps Florida this the network, this the leader here on FSU Campus. You're listening to Voices That Inspire.
