What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. My name's Tony Carbohal. I secure Florida's future at the Florida Chamber Foundation. And I talk about securing Florida's future, what I think about is looking into the future, thinking about the trends that are gonna impact you in me, our community, my family, your family, my son, and make sure that this remains a great place to live, work, play, learn, and run a business. It was actually a radio commentator that gave me one of the things that keeps me going. And that is a phrase that says, in times like these, it's important to remember that there have always been times like this. And the things that get us past that are people who believe in something and believe in their communities and then go out and do something. I get to work with business leaders, with community leaders, with elected officials, who believe in things and get up and do something. And I don't lose faith, I don't lose heart. I get frustrated, but I always believe we're gonna get on the other side of this. One thing that really stands out to me and it drives me day in and day out. I am a grateful American in large part because this country and this state particularly accepted my parents, Peter Pan, refugees from Cuba, who came over and that means without their parents, they were put on a plane, they didn't know what they were going into and there was a church and there were families and there were institutions here that accepted them and put them on a path so that they could have success. That also means they started here with nothing. And in a generation, we've made a difference. This is still a place that when you focus on the right things, when you give people opportunities, when you build the right community, we can actually impact lives. We can grow the state, the capacity of each individual and ensure success. I'm a grateful American. I don't ever forget where we started, how we got here. And none of this is about a conversation about today. It's really about a conversation about the culture and what we believe in for the long term. My name's Tony Carvajal. I'm the Vice-Secure Florida's future at the Florida Chamber Foundation. You're listening to voices that inspire.
