What inspires you from WFSU Public Media? Here's this week's Voices That Inspire. I'm Virginia Glass, retired realtor with Cold Royal Banker after 52 years, and now I'm just a community volunteer. I can't imagine not being involved in the community when the community has done so much for me. I joined the Chamber 35 or 40 years ago, and every time I have an opportunity to work through them, I learn so much. And as a realtor, you have to know your community and what better way than being engaged in those activities that keep us moving forward. And it's just such a wonderful feeling of gratification to be able to know that maybe in some small way, I made a difference on an issue. I'm engaged in all the activities that I'm a part of, but the Telhasim Memorial Healthcare Foundation has been a real education for me, and has made me acutely aware of the needs in our community. And I'm hoping in some small way that I'm able to improve those. United Way is just an amazing organization and the current income council chair. And up close and personal to the poverty that we have here in Leon County, and we're not proud of that. But we're working hard to change those statistics. I love my church. I've been active in my church since I came to Telhasi. And now I'm really excited about an initiative I'm involved in called Choose Telhasi, where we're actively pursuing people over 55 to come and see what we have here. I tell people I work full time for free now, and love it. I'm Virginia Glass, a retired reelter from Cold War Banker, and now a community volunteer. You're listening to Voices That Inspire.
